Hillary defended a child rapist. And she’s silenced women in the past. I’m not saying Trump is any better, but there’s a reason why Hillary Clinton is former Secretary of state, and it’s because what she did was so heinous when she let fellow Americans get dragged out in the streets of Benghazi and their bodies burned just for funsies. Obviously you’re free to pick who you want to vote for but I cannot rest with someone who has said ‘They’re dead now, lets move on’ referring to the victims.

leupagus:

Okay, well, fine. Let’s dance, buddy.

Yes, she sure did defend a man who was accused of raping a child. Because that was her job as a public defender. Do you know what a public defender is? It’s a defense lawyer for those who cannot afford an attorney but who are constitutionally given the right to one. If you think people who you believe are innocent are the only ones entitled to the rights of American citizens, then… okay. But a public defender – any lawyer – is obligated not only by law but by moral imperative to do her best for her client, even when she believes or even knows the client to be guilty. That’s how the system works in the US. Sorry if you’re just learning this now.

And If you actually believe that the tragedy of Benghazi was Hillary Clinton’s fault, you’re either solely feeding off of Fox News or you’ve decided that you’re just going to make up any old story that indulges your need to make Clinton into a psycho bitch from hell. I mean, “just for funsies”? What are you, fifteen damn years old? The fact of the matter is that Benghazi was an enormously complicated affair for which Clinton bears very little responsibility, unless you count the refusal of the GOP Congress to give the State Department more funds for protection to be Clinton’s fault. And as for what you can or cannot rest with, that’s up to you, but Clinton never said “They’re dead now, lets move on,” and in fact said precisely the opposite of that, so I for one would try to figure out something else to pretend to be outraged by.

There are two reasons why Hillary Clinton is former Secretary of State. One is that she wanted time to start her campaign for president. She’s been planning to run again in 2016 literally since July of 2008, and every single halfway politically aware person in the world understood that when she resigned as SoS in 2013, it was to focus on 2016. Nobody, except the very ignorant and the very prejudiced, think it had anything to do with her job performance; they knew that she was revving up to succeed Obama. Now, there are any number of people who were also pissed off at her because of that, and I’d be willing to bet anything that you, anon, were one of them. Because it showed just how ambitious Clinton was, that she’d devote three entire years of her life to running for president. I myself think it was also a really good thing to do for the country, because while you can half-ass being a competent Senator while running for President, the Secretary of State is a job that needs to be take up 150% of your time, energy, and attention. It is arguably a more demanding job than the Presidency. For her to resign from the State Department when it would have given her a pretty big boost in terms of prestige had she stayed there throughout her campaign showed me that not only was she serious about running, but that she was serious about making sure the country was being lead by the best people who were giving their utmost resources. John Kerry is a great Secretary of State. He’s also never running for President again. That’s who Obama needed in his second term, and that’s why Clinton left the State Department.

The second reason she left is that Hillary Clinton suffered a major concussion in December 2012. I’m sure that your ignorance of head injuries is just as vast and remarkable as your ignorance of both the legal system and the political system, but let me tell you: concussions are serious fucking business. You hear about football players and the like getting concussions and you see them play the next week, and that ought to make you have enormous fucking respect for those guys, because concussions can seriously fuck your head up. The damage can last for weeks or months or yes, even years – I am 100% positive that Clinton is still dealing with headaches, migraines, dizziness, and all of that jazz, because concussions can have after effects that last that fucking long. And you know what might not be a great thing to be doing when you’re recovering from a head injury? Being Secretary of State! Maybe instead of trying to deal with an injury like that, it’s better to rest for a few months and give a position that is enormously, fantastically important over to someone else who didn’t have a concussion! What do you think, anon, do you think that could possibly be relevant to the issue? Hmm?

So unless your position is literally that Clinton orchestrated a fucking concussion so that Obama could fire her with a good excuse (and please tell me you’re not so far down the rabbit hole that you’d believe a conspiracy theory I just made up), you can kindly fuck off with your moronic bullshit excuses for loathing a woman who’s been dealing with you and petty, small-minded twerps just like you for the last 40 years and who will be President of the United States just fine without your adulation, thanks.

hillary literally defended someone that raped a child, A CHILD. that is a bad person, jfc.

This is literally a very short google search anon w t f

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2014/jul/17/did-hillary-clinton-ask-be-relieved-rapist/ –> READ THIS BUT FIRST:

tldr;

(A) She was appointed as her client’s attorney by the court system; she did not volunteer for the case.

(B) She asked to be removed from the case because she was grossed out by it, but the judge denied her request.

© She didn’t “free” her client; she negotiated a plea deal for jail time, LIKE EVERY DEFENSE ATTORNEY IS LEGALLY REQUIRED TO DO.

(D) If she did not zealously advocate for her client, or purposely tanked the case, she would have faced disbarment from the legal profession. (SHE WOULD HAVE LOST HER JOB)

(E) In the 1980 audio interview, she talked about how her client somehow passed the polygraph that she’d hoped would have helped prove his guilt, and then laughed while saying that since then she never trusts polygraphs, ever.

(F) Even the picture used is not the actual victim, and you can be damned well sure they used a tearful angelic blonde little white girl to drive the hate.

but tldr; yes she defended a child rapist , no she didn’t really have a choice despite finding the case disgusting, because as a civil attorney YOU LEGALLY STILL HAVE TO REPRESENT THEM NO MATTER HOW ICK IT IS (this is what LAWYERS DO, they have NO CHOICE). She was essentially forced into it by her firm, and she made the guy take a polygraph test hoping that would prove him guilty. But when it didn’t prove him quilty (since he passed the polygraph ) she said she forever lost her faith in those tests.

Also, just FYI, in case you’re looking for a law degree, please know that this is STILL required of attorneys today. If you request to get removed from a case because you don’t like it and the court keeps you on you are legally bound to do so irrespective of how you feel about it.

No one is saying that every it of what that man did isn’t super horrible or gross.

But …

being legally bound to defend a rapist

≠ being an advocate for rape.

Also – bit of history for ya– despite this one gross case (among other civil cases no doubt) the Rose Law Firm she working for was known for actively taking cases for and defending groups like The Black Panthers. #tbt

Please do REBLOG/SIGNAL BOOST this post – the amount of anon messages I’ve gotten in the last 24 hours about this exact topic is uncanny

People need to know the truth.

i’m really relieved to hear this

the greatest success of the republican party this election has been the demonization of Hillary Clinton, to the point where people actually believe she’s on the same level as trump.

she isn’t.

EVERY DEFENDANT IN AMERICA IS ENTITLED TO AN ATTORNEY.  PERIOD.  END OF STATEMENT.

Jesus God, I hate Internet meme.

One of my mother’s dearest friends is a public defender and I can confirm the non-negotiable aspect of this. She’s told us stories of murder and rape cases where she’s had to defend people she knew were guilty. IT WAS NOT A CHOICE, it was her being legally required to fulfill the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS that even the most heinous criminals still have.

I’m so tired of trying to combat the literal lies and slanders people actually believe about Hillary. It’s exhausting.

Just a reminder for fans of the Founding Fathers that John Adams (yes, that John Adams) defended the British soldiers who had fired on the crowd in the Boston Massacre because they too had the right to be represented by counsel, even though he didn’t want the case and knew he would get hate for taking it.

“The Part I took in Defence of Cptn. Preston and the Soldiers, procured me Anxiety, and Obloquy enough. It was, however, one of the most gallant, generous, manly and disinterested Actions of my whole Life, and one of the best Pieces of Service I ever rendered my Country.”

da-at-ass:

Hi so please vote Hillary so trans people can stay on hormones and go to the bathroom.

It would be nice if you could save your shows of write-in candidate bravado for a year when trans people aren’t being openly attacked and attacks on them literally aren’t part of the Republican platform.

I mean Bernie gave Hillary his endorsement and if he’s obviously gonna vote for her and not himself or a third party I think it’s time to vote for Hillary to not wreck a bunch of people’s lives for the sake of a spiteful political gesture.

This trans person says thanks.

To the Sanders fans pissed about Bernie endorsing Hillary

willisninety-six:

You do realize why he is doing this right?

He’s consistently said again and again after the primaries that his #1 goal is to: STOP DONALD TRUMP FROM BECOMING PRESIDENT.

So, with that goal in mind, it would be an absolute fuckton of a disaster if Bernie were to run third-party or begged his supporters to vote for him write-in, you know why? Because it would split the Democratic vote up in half.
And because of that this would give them way less votes in order to beat Trump, and because of that Trump would lead in national votes in most states, and thus lead in the electoral vote, making him president.

Don’t believe me? Look at the 1912, 1968 and 2000 elections and tell me I’m wrong.

Bernie knows this too, that’s why he’s urging his supporters to vote for Hillary. He wants the Democrats united so Trump will be defeated.

He’s not “selling out”, he’s doing this so no supporter of his will either vote Trump or abstain from voting, and to make sure America continues progress. Progress that, unfortunately will be thwarted or reversed with Trump as president.

The political revolution fails if Trump is elected.

Also I would like to add this, copied from another friend discussing this…

“Then there’s also new murmurs that this move was intentionally done by Bernie so that he may speak at the DNC convention.
Had he not endorsed her today, they might have stripped him of his delegates. Currently, his campaign office is reaching out to delegates to ensure that they’ll still be coming to the convention.
I am not ready to lose hope. He may yet have an ace up his sleeve.
Currently, what he’s doing is running parallel to what JFK did.
So, I’ll wait until after the convention before I decide to abandon him for another.

Wait for the convention and hope he can pull off a miracle. He’s a chess player and he’s been in politics for a LONG time. The convention is the make or break for me.
I’m was Bernie or Bust. I’ve eventually become Bernie or Jill. Especially since she opened up the Green party for Bernie should he not get the nomination. Bernie cannot accept any offers like this before the DNC con or he wouldn’t be allowed the floor to speak his stances.
It’s a tacky situation. Just take a breath and hope he can pull it off.”

So let’s hope he’s playing a Trojan horse!

its odd how conveniently yall forget that Bernie had the largest turnouts for voting and yet lower polling numbers. its called voter fraud and there have been multiple investigations in Hillary’s team that show thousands of bernie votes have been scratched, thrown away, deterred, as well as running millennials most likely to vote for him away from the polls with harassment. like it was not discreet, i was at the caucus for nevada and i had hillary staff screaming in my face and redoing the votes seven times over, frustratingly, each time bernie got the majority. if you think the reason bernie lost the nomination is because “lol stupid young people like to use twitter and not vote” rather than a billionare woman with a track record of cheating and breaking the law, using this wealth to her advantage to swing the votes, then honestly you’re the reason why people don’t go out and vote to begin with. you sit and belittle young people for getting involved in politics, and then you tease them for being pushed out by a system that doesn’t value them.

Thank you👆🏿👆🏿👆🏿👆🏿

Important to note that these are the types of things mainstream media IS NOT telling us. Stay aware, y’all. The media has their own agenda and it never included Bernie.

If you are the 10th largest company in the world, why is it that your only mission is to be the 9th largest company in the world? Why isn’t it about the value for your customers and making sure your workers are getting paid fair wages so they don’t have to be on welfare? Why aren’t you looking at the quality of life that you’re creating? There’s only so much you need to have and you’re not taking it with you when you’re gone. You’re passing down values to your children and the values shouldn’t be more, more, more, more; it should be about what we’re getting together and our collective humanity. I’m a humanitarian, so this is why I’m speaking out for Bernie. Because he’s a humanitarian.

everyone is aware bernie is still running right. like he never dropped out. he is still here

in all seriousness i feel like those Hold Your Nose, Close Your Eyes, Bite Your Tongue and Vote For Hillary 2k16 posts are all good intentioned and i will probably be saying the same after the convention, but i don’t think people realize how damaging they can be RIGHT NOW, while he’s STILL IN THE RACE, when the core of his entire campaign is his supporters being enthusiastic / donating / volunteering / sharing information about him. he already has so much working against him in terms of biased media coverage, election fraud, etc., and seeing posts like that can be really demoralizing and make people give up on him when he needs them more than ever — i know bernie is a longshot but if anything, with trump officially being the official nominee now, we should be encouraging people 2 rally behind bernie even more and help ensure he has the most delegates he can possibly get going into the convention because he is a surefire way 2 stop trump, seeing as he has proven himself as a candidate who can gain the support of independents who are so critical for the general election

Not to mention, Hillz is headed for murky waters. X

i s2g i am so tired of hearing people say that Hillary Clinton seems ‘mean’. Like no she’s not mean she’s just not a doormat. She’s not campaigning to be a nanny or wedding planner she’s wanting to be a head of state and guess what you can’t be a pushover to do that. Stop calling women who stand their ground mean. JFC

Bernie Sanders backers beware: It’s up to you to keep movement alive if Hillary Clinton takes primary

salon:

Ryan Cooper of The Week posted an interesting piece Tuesday morning about the dilemma facing Bernie Sanders’ supporters. It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Hillary Clinton will be the Democratic nominee, and there are several reasons why that’s so. Cooper writes:

“It’s been obvious from the start of the 2016 presidential race that just about the entire Democratic Party establishment is in the tank for Hillary Clinton. The head of the Democratic National Committee is one of her 2008 campaign co-chairs, and the DNC has refused to allow more than six debates, deliberately scheduled them at comically bad times to prevent Clinton challengers from getting much attention, and most recently cut off Bernie Sanders’ campaign from its own data.”

Cooper continues: “The DNC’s obvious bias is bad. It’s also utterly predictable. Clinton has deep ties to party elites thanks to her husband being a former president and her serving as secretary of state for the current president. It’s something less than shocking that the party’s elites are putting their thumbs on the scales against an avowed socialist primary competitor.”

Clinton is a competent candidate, and she could easily win the Democratic nomination without the overwhelming support of the establishment and the corporate sector, but that’s not really the point. What’s frustrating, particularly for Sanders supporters, is that the deck is so clearly stacked in her favor. Worse still, if Clinton does indeed win, the preferences of Sanders voters (roughly 10 to 15 percent of the overall population, as Cooper notes) will find little representation in government.

Energized by campaign, the real question for Bernie Sanders supporters is what to do if Hillary Clinton wins
