Okay we all make a lot of fun of Eurovision and it’s a wonderfully weird show, but it’s also very important to remember that Eurovision was invented in post-war Europe as a way to allow European countries to come together in a fun, light-hearted, and entertaining way.
So it’s not just a way for us to be silly, it’s a way for us to be silly together after years and years where being silly and funny and free wasn’t allowed.
Does anybody else think that the current situation with Syria and the Schengen area and Israel is going to make Eurovision really wild this year? Cause I kind of do.
I’m not trying to make light of the tragedy I just think it’ll be interesting to see how tensions might play out in Eurovision like if it’s just gonna be totally glossed over or if it’ll be reflected in points or what.
