SERIOUSLY THOUGH SHE WAS MY FAVORITE BATMAN VILLAIN
Her physical condition didn’t allow her to age
No one took her seriously as an actress
And even when she was trying to get into a happy romantic relationship (albeit with another villain) he still couldn’t take her seriously as a consenting, sexually active and romantically interested adult
That’s a lot of blows to someone’s psyche
and Babydoll is both a sympathetic villain and a formidable one
I remember this episode fucked me up a a kid.
And man, do I wish we could see this Batman again: the Batman that consoles his villains, because the majority (if not all) of them are mentally ill people. And Batman knows this and wants them healthy again, not punished and GOD definitely not dead.
Baby Doll is so underrated as a Batman villain

The story of one fucked up, traumatized little boy, doing his best to help other fucked up traumatized people.
The Batman that cares about the inmates is my favorite. He doesn’t put up with their shit, but he does try to reach out here and there and he’s as human as he can be to them.
When Harley was re-institutionalized, he got her that dress she wanted.
In the comics based on B:tAS, there was a time during Christmas that there was snow and it was Mr. Freeze’s fault, and he was making it snow because Christmas was his anniversary with Nora and she LOVED it when it snowed on Christmas, so Batman let him finish mourning before calmly taking him back to Arkham.
He never, ever gives up on Harvey possibly recovering.
Sure, Batman is going to throw punches and do what it takes to take these guys down when they’re hurting or threatening people. And he’s not going be a complete bleeding heart; he has to protect the innocent. He’s going to take them down and take them back to Arkham, but it doesn’t mean he’s incapable of being a bit human to the ones who deserve it.
Batman needs become human again

Remember that time a young girl with near god-like psychic powers threatened to destroy reality and the only one that could stop her was Batman because he had a previous encounter with her and was tasked with killing her to restore reality.
But instead, Batman sat with her on a swing and kept her company as the girl’s psychic powers slowly killed her.

I love this comic. I love it so much.
Excuse me while I also talk a bit about Family Guy here.
I used to enjoy Family Guy. Yeah, it was crude and crass but the writing was clever. Some of the jokes were extremely funny. But as time went on, the more they started to care less. Or at least that is how I feel. And the more feminist I became and the more I learned how harmful certain ‘jokes’ are, the more I began to hate. Especially when it comes to Meg.
Meg is not a terrible charecter. She isn’t evil, she’s not a villian. Yet she gets treated like complete and utter crap because….honestly, I don’t know why! The writers say they don’t know how to write teenaged girls but I call bullcrap on that. Meg has been abused by not just Peter but her mother and brother too. Her mother, who should be trying protect her daughter, demeans her in every possible way and that is suppose to be funny. That’s the joke. Meg in pain is the joke.
And isn’t funny.
People say, “It’s just a cartoon” but we know that media influences how people think and having Meg being hurt physically and emotionally is dangerous because there are going to be people who see that and think that is okay. And the way Chris is portrayed also shows how children learn from their parents and can end up being abusers.
This comic really is fantastic
I feel like this is the spiritual sequel to Boy’s Night that none of us knew we needed but we absolutely did
Also, I feel like this brings up a pretty interesting point: Even though Hank Hill is often confused and disappointed with Bobby, he is never physically abusive towards him or anyone in the family, and is willing to show his son he loves him. Bobby may be a constant source of confusion for him, but he’s not below learning to accept his son for who he is, and given that Hank takes a lot of pride in being a red-blooded american man, when american media is so obsessed with the ideal of “comically” abusive and negligent fathers, that’s pretty damn important.
You know, an R-rated Deadpool film is well and good, but I kind of want to see Wade show up in one of the regular X-Men films, too.
I want to see him hastily catch himself every time he’s about to say “fuck”, because he knows that the film – being rated PG-13 – is only allowed one F-bomb, and he wants to make it count.
I want to see him throw the ugliest tantrum when, after he spends the whole movie saving up that one allotted “fuck” for the perfect moment, somebody else uses it up before he has a chance.
And that someone is Wolverine.
I so love that this is completely possible in upcoming films
Wade: Everyone knows PG-13 means you only get one f-bomb. Gotta use it wisely.
IM really trying to imagine someone drawing these and being like “yeah! yeah! this is totally what happens in school!”
I highly doubt that the people drawing these do legitimately think this is what happens. Their job is to exaggerate current trends in concerns and humor to farcical levels.
And don’t forget, most of these are drawn for newspapers, which you might recognise as something basically no one under fifty uses anymore. And what do people in that generation love more than anything else? Pretending that younger generations are idiots for not living the exact same way they did. These artists are pandering to their audience because they have a steady job getting paid to do art and that is really rare.
